Anaheim fell in their final battle of the season with the Kings on Saturday by the score of 3-1. 

For the Ducks their lone scorer was Trevor Zegras. Zegras is on a four game point streak that includes three assists and two goals during that span. Olen Zellweger and Cam Fowler picked up an assist each. Fowler’s being his 33rd the second most by a Duck this season and the most of any Duck’s defenseman. The Anaheim Ducks will start the second half of their season Friday night.

Anaheim was hoping for a better start to the season, but they are currently 18-30-2 and just 38 points through 50 games. Only the Blackhawks and Sharks have less.

Most of the Ducks struggles come from the defensive side of things. The Ducks give up a lot of shots and goals. Their current goal differential is at -41. Anaheim spends a lot of the game in the defensive zone which makes it harder to get a good forecheck goin

Former Duck Corey Perry makes his return to the Honda Center Friday night, his second game in an Oilers jersey.

The Oilers recently signed him on a one year deal worth $775,000 with another $325,000 in performance bonuses.

Perry was originally drafted by the Ducks when they were still the Mighty Ducks in 2003, with the 28th pick of the first round.

Perry racked up many achievements in his time in Anaheim including a Stanley Cup Final win in 2007. He was the “Rocket” Richard Trophy winner with

Frank Vatrano recorded three points in his first all-star game.

The 29 year old Vatrano was drafted to Team Hughes on Thursday night. A team captained by Jack and Quinn Hughes as well as their celebrity captain Michale Buble.

Team Hughes would lose to Team Matthews 6-5. Vatrano did all he could to aid his team. His three points included a breakaway goal, another off of an Elias Pettersson assist, and his own assist. He also recorded the only hit of the NHL All-Star game.
